GDP Growth by Party of President

Description: This graph shows the annual change in the GDP of the U.S. for every year since 1930. The years are separated on the basis of which party controlled the Presidency at the time. The growth is graphed as if the years attributed to each category occurred back to back without the intervening years having occurred.

Discussion: Another way to evaluate GDP growth and politics is to take not just the presidency, but also which party controls the legislature, into account. That data is available here: GDP growth by party.
