Change in Wisconsin's Unemployment Rate by the Party of the Governor

Description: This graph shows the annual changes in Wisconsin's unemployment rate since 1977 split out by the political party of the Governor. The results are cumulative, as if the years in which each party controlled the governorship occurred back-to-back. The graph shows the unemployment rate under Democratic governors falling briefly below zero. Of course, that is impossible, but in reality those additional points were used up by counteracting the increase in unemployment under Republican governors.
