Act Individually.
There are many ways to help steer the country towards policies that have historically been effective without spending a penny.
For example, you can volunteer.
Most importantly, you can register to vote if you haven't done so already.
You can write to your Senators, your U.S. Representative, your Governor or your President.
Or, maybe most effective of all, you can contact your state legislators.
People often overlook the importance of writing to their representatives.
Either the actual elected official or somebody on their staff who they talk to every day really will read and consider your message.
